Your motorbike!

The V5 logbook/registration certificate. This must be registered in the name of the current keeper. If the V5 logbook/registration certificate is still in the owner's maiden name, you will need to bring a copy of your marriage certificate.

Two forms of identification. One must be an original photo ID (such as a passport) and one should be a proof of address item (accepted forms include a utility bill or council tax letter dated within the last 9 months). These must match the name and address on the vehicle logbook.

All service history and MOT certificates if available.

Both sets of motorbike keys. Unless you've told us otherwise, the valuation provided assumes you have 2 sets of keys for your motorbike. If you've only got 1 key, the price we offer you after inspection may be reduced.

Bank details. So we can pay you for your motorbike. The account has to be in the name of the registered keeper.

Finance settlement letter. If the vehicle has any finance outstanding we need a letter with the settlement figure from the finance company to be able to buy the motorbike.
Once you have your motorbike valuation, simply contact our team on 0161 729 0007 or email them at info@motorbiketrader.co.uk. We will arrange to inspect your motorbike at a location, date and time to suit you.

All of our appointments are free, with no obligation to sell.
We can arrange settlement of any outstanding finance on your motorbike. For us to do this we will need you to provide an in-date letter from your finance company, detailing the current settlement figure and your agreement reference number.

The settlement amount will be deducted from the amount paid to you for your motorbike.

We will pay your finance company within 4 working days after the day of sale.

If you owe more on your finance than the value of the motorbike, we will still be happy to buy the motorbike, but you will need to pay us the shortfall by debit/credit card when we purchase your motorbike.
We'll be happy to give you a valuation and buy your motorbike whilst it has a personalised registration.

However, if you want to keep your private plate it's easy to reassign it to another motorbike or to put the registration onto a retention certificate so that it can be sold or reassigned at a later date. You would need to complete this with the DVLA prior to selling to us.

To find out more about personalised registrations and locate your local DVLA office, or visit the DVLA website.

Also, motorbiketrader.co.uk does not specialise in private plates and therefore selling the motorbike to us with or without a private registration plate will not positively affect the valuation offered.
Unfortunately we don't buy motorbikes which are non-runners.
We hold information on all UK motorbikes manufactured since 1982. If you are unable to find your motorbike it may be because:
